Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center
Trauma-informed • Body-based • Community care
About us
Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center is a nonprofit organization created to support the growing demand for somatic and nervous system-informed care, the limited availability of accessible group-based support spaces, and the lack of training pathways for emerging somatic therapists.
We exist to support both community healing and clinician development by offering heart-centered, body-based psychotherapy alongside intentional training and somatic group work. Our model is designed to integrate clinical integrity in the somatic field, accessibility to care, and long-term sustainability for clinicians.

Our mission
Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center envisions a world where body-based & relational healing is understood as foundational to individual and collective wellbeing. As a nonprofit, we are committed to expanding access to somatic and trauma-informed care across the Bay Area and California.
Access + sustainability
As a nonprofit, we are committed to increasing access to care while maintaining clinician sustainability and quality.
Our sustainable funding model combines multiple revenue streams to expand accessibility:
• Direct services: Individual therapy sessions provide foundational organizational support
• Community funding: Donations and grants enable us to offer reduced-cost services
• Training programs: Professional development offerings contribute to our mission and sustainability
This diversified approach allows us to provide:
• Sliding-scale therapy options
• Low-fee group programs
• Clinical training and supervision
• Community education workshops
By balancing earned revenue with philanthropic support, we can grow sustainable while prioritizing accessibility.
Training & community impact
In addition to therapy services, Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center is developing as a training and mentorship site for emerging somatic clinicians.
We are committed to supporting the next generation of practitioners through:
• Somatic group facilitation training
• Trainings around theories/modalities in the somatic field (Sensorimotor, Generative Somatics, etc.)
• Clinical mentorship and supervision
• Ethical and sustainable clinician development
By strengthening clinician training, we hope to expand access to high-quality somatic care across communities.
Our values
Clinical integrity
We are committed to somatically grounded, trauma-informed care rooted in strong clinical training. All therapists at this center hold a master’s, doctorate, or extensive training in somatic psychology, ensuring a shared foundation in mind–body psychotherapy, ethics, and relational depth.
Training + mentorship
We are expanding to support emerging clinicians through mentorship, education (especially in somatic group work), and sustainable training pathways that protect wellbeing and foster long-term growth rooted in care.
Accessibility + sustainability
We strive to expanding access to high-quality care while maintaining organizational sustainability. Our model supports equitable services, ethical compensation, and long-term clinical excellence.
Community care
Community care means offering group spaces, accessible pricing, and a collective orientation because reclaiming our embodiment is something we can do together.
